How to create a cinematic cooking video of yourself with artificial intelligence
I wanted a commercial-style chef video: a spinning knife, shrimp sizzling in the pan, a tall flambé flame. I didn't cook a thing. I used one selfie, one recipe and Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield. This guide shows the steps, the settings and the prompts so you can make yours.

The result of my example
Results vary with every generation. Watch the whole video and check the face, hands and movement before posting.
1. Pick a recipe with action
Movement is what makes it look good: chopping, sautéing, fire, steam, stretching dough, anything sizzling. Static recipes (an assembled salad, a cake in the oven) make dull videos.
Ideas: flambéed shrimp, wok noodles, smash burger, fresh pasta, buttery scrambled eggs.
2. Pick your photo
Use a sharp, front-facing photo with your face clearly visible, natural light and no filters. One or two similar photos are enough; more photos don't mean better results. Photos that look different from each other can confuse the tool.
3. Generate the cinematic script with Claude
Instead of writing "a woman cooking shrimp", ask an AI to act as a commercial director: it turns the recipe into 16 to 20 shots with angles, camera moves, speed and cuts, in the right cooking order, with no repeated steps.
Open Claude (or ChatGPT), paste the director prompt, attach your photo and paste the recipe at the end. You get back an English prompt ready to copy.

Interface and cost checked on October 14, 2026. Check the amount on the Generate button before clicking, the tool isn't free and prices change.
5. Paste the prompt and generate
Paste the whole prompt into the Prompt field at once (Ctrl/Cmd+V). Tip: don't type it or paste in pieces, long typed prompts can freeze the page. Click Generate and wait a few minutes.

6. Review the result
If something goes wrong
- Face doesn't look like you
- Use a sharper front-facing photo and regenerate before editing the prompt.
- Repeated or out-of-order steps
- Ask Claude to revise the script so each step happens once, in order.
- Video shorter than the script
- Some models or screens limit duration; check it's set to 30s or ask Claude for a 15- or 20-second version.
7. Choose your recipe
Pick a dish with movement, grab your selfie and save this guide. Then tell me what you cooked.

A founder's perspective
I didn't flambé anything. But I learned that a good AI result starts with good direction.
This video started as an experiment: seeing how far AI goes when it gets a director's instructions instead of just a description. Business works the same way: the tool does a lot, but clarity in the request is what makes results show up.
